"We were there for 5 days. Since our arrival their yard stole my heart. It is beautiful, like an oasis, quiet and a good place to relax since they have 2 pools on the property. The room was a bit odd to me since the bathroom didn't have a door so it was like an open space, but overall i liked it and i was very impressed by the cleanliness of it and also the towel folding that the housekeeping does. "Makehal is a jewel in Playa del Carmen. Set along the beach a bit away from the very touristy 5ta avenida, Makehal offers a peaceful beachfront refuge. Unfortunately erosion is taking away much of the beach - but that is not the property's fault. Service, food offerings and facilities exceeded my expectations. "

"We had a wonderful five night stay. The food options were excellent. The swim out pool was a perk and was refreshing to jump in at any time. We participated in an on site activity each day so leaving the property was not necessary. It was nice to have the option of either beach or pool lounging. The only negative for me was the king bed, it was firm and not what I’m used to so a mattress topper would have made my sleep more comfortable. Otherwise the stay was excellent and would highly recommend to anyone who wants a getaway in a warm climate. "

Occidental at Xcaret Destination - All Inclusive

"Everything was excellent, service, stuff, property, the only thing is that if you have kids between 15 and 17 years old they probably get bored… They are not kids so they won’t do kids stuff and they are not old enough to do adult stuff. But besides that I definitely recommend this hotel. "
