"I would recommend a stay here for the fabulous central location. The room was clean and check in instructions were very clear. Please be aware there was no reception as such, but if needed you can leave your luggage at the bar next door, and there were emergency contacts listed. We didn't need any of this but good to know. There were a couple of bottles of water in the room and some discount vouchers, all of which were an unexpected bonus. The kitchenette was handy if you wanted to make a drink...

"Pluses: Cute, clean little unit with nice amenities, friendly helpful staff. Minuses: If you are sensitive to noise, you should know that this is right next to a pub with a beer garden, and they played loud music with patrons singing along enthusiastically until 9:30 on the night I was there. After that, a little quieter, but noise was noticeable up until 11 PM or so. AC control didn't work, which meant I had to open the skylight, which let in more sound from the adjacent pub."

"Our stay at The Grand was lovely, we hadn’t been to York for a few years but the standard of the hotel hasn’t changed. For us it is the only place to stay in York with an excellent location for the city and station of arriving by train. The staff are so welcoming and special mention to Wayne at the entrance he is a credit to the hotel, so welcoming to everyone! Our room was gorgeous and very clean and very quiet at night. Overall a lovely stay and we will stay agin next time we are in York! "

"When I received a QR code to check in I was happy that it seemed it was going to be a quick check-in so we could get into our room asap and then go out and begin our holiday. It's a good concept but unfortunately it didn't work for any of the guests attempting to use them. We managed to check in but it failed to give us a key so we had to get assistance from reception. All of the staff here are very helpful and friendly. I think they should just remove the kiosks and place more desks there as...
