Incline Village
Incline Village was once a 19th-century logging town on the Great Incline Tramway, but little sign of its rugged past remains here today. Stay in this luxury mountain retreat for a touch of class and serenity. It features great mansions, plush hotels and exquisite restaurants. Enjoy this adventure playground with upscale appeal, a place where you can bike the mountain trails by day and revel in swanky casinos by night.
Incline Village is one of the largest towns around Lake Tahoe and the main one along Nevada’s portion of the lake. It is perched on the edge of the beautiful Lake Tahoe State Park. Follow the lead of the locals, some of whom are rich and famous, and head into the park to discover tranquil bays and calm waters. Sunbathe on the rocks, swim in the refreshingly cool lake or enjoy a leisurely picnic under the tall cedars and vanilla-scented Jeffrey pine trees. Alternatively, head to Sand Harbor within the park to enjoy watersports on the clear, blue lake. Try boating, waterskiing, kayaking or even scuba diving.
Incline Village approaches lake life in a genteel way. Play a round of golf at the Incline Village Championship Golf Course, enjoy the views from the Lone Eagle Grille restaurant in the Hyatt Hotel or soak and scrub away your stresses in a plush spa.
The seasons bring with them different activities. In the balmy summer months, lounge on the lakeside beaches or get some thrills on the Flume mountain bike trail, which finishes in the village. Join theatergoers at the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival in Sand Harbor for a more serene activity. Snow arrives in winter and brings the opportunity to ski and snowboard at the Diamond Peak ski area.
The closest international airport to Incline Village is Reno-Tahoe Airport. Rent a car for the most convenient way to explore the lake region. Plenty of taxis and shuttles also serve Lake Tahoe’s top spots.
