Australian Outback Spectacular
Step into a world of bravery and legend at the Australian Outback Spectacular. The venue’s stunning show, High Country Legends, introduces visitors to the inspiring Australian stories and characters from the Outback. Enjoy the show’s mesmerising special effects, legendary stories and death-defying stunts.
From the moment you step through the venue’s front door, you will be transported to another time and place. Every detail of the atmospheric venue contributes to the overall Outback experience, such as Australian countryside backdrops, rustic iron roofing and old-fashioned wagon wheel light fittings.
Pull up a stool at the venue’s fully themed pub and have a drink while enjoying the pre-show entertainment. Listen to live outback music performed by the Australian Outback Spectacular cast. Get up close to the animal stars of the show, such as border collies and horses, for a photograph.
When showtime is called, step inside the arena and sit back and relax for the spectacular performance. Immerse yourself in the constantly transforming worlds and scenery. Special effects add to the captivation with fog, snow, fire, wind and a first-of-its-kind water screen projection system. Several “rain curtains” add a shimmering, almost holographic, effect of moving water, turning the stage into a vast and ever-changing landscape.
Australian Outback Spectacular is located between Wet’n’Wild and Movie World on the Gold Coast, about a 20-minute drive north of Surfers Paradise and a one-hour drive south of Brisbane. Dinner-time performances take place from Tuesday through to Saturday. There are also lunch-time performances on selected Sundays. Australian Outback Spectacular is closed for Christmas on December 25.
The show lasts 90 minutes and includes a three-course meal as well as drinks and an all-Australian stockmen’s hat to make you look the part. Specific dietary requirements can be catered for if arranged in advance. Pre-show entertainment starts 45 minutes prior to show time.
