"This was a great place to stay for 1 night before heading back home from the Faro airport. The room and bathroom were both small but it was clean and comfortable. Our room had its own small terrace and there was a very nice rooftop terrace to enjoy the sunset. We left early so did not have breakfast but the breakfast room was very nice. "First, the staff were so welcoming and helful. Especially Francisco and Carol. 2nd, admire the renovation creating a hotel from an older building. "Great hotel in a residential rather than tourist area within easy walking distance of the historic town. The hotel itself is within the Ria Shopping Centre on the 2nd floor with lift access and is very modern and clean. Good breakfast and free hot drinks available throughout the day. Would recommend."

"Lovely hotel with updated rooms, excellent breakfast buffet, great location. Easy to walk or inexpensive Uber available. My heater did not work but after a very chilly first night they moved me to another room. My only complaint is that I told them early in the morning but the matter was not resolved until 1600. "

A wonderful find

"We booked this on a bit of a last minute family trip and it turned out to be a delight. The breakfast and dinner are fantastic, all the staff are very friendly and lots of them made a fuss of our children and kept them smiling. Drinks are reasonably priced, our family room was spacious. We had a partial sea view that we were happy with. Room service did a great job tidying up each day. There’s no bad things I have to say about the place, just wish the weather was better but you can’t have it all. We will definitely come back to Dom Jose. Location is fantastic too!"

"If you’re thinking of booking do not hesitate! We enjoyed every minute and had no issues from start to finish. The food, staff, beautiful interior, gardens, it was just perfect and the ultimate experience to relax and switch off. I loved the little personal touches like toothbrushes, toothpaste, the vanity pack, a razor, gorgeous scented body lotion, wine, chocolates. I could just keep going. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Domes Lake, we will be back! "

"A fantastic and spotlessly clean hotel. We stayed here for a week at the start of March. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best, which meant the rooftop bar and pool area was closed for the first couple of days. Despite the weather, Olhao is a lovely little town with enough bars and restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel. We hired a car to explore the area and towards the Spanish border, and we were always able to find a free parking space in the surrounding streets around the hotel. The hotel breakfast was one of the best breakfast's I've had at any hotel, regarding choice and quality. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, but a special mention to Tania and Manuel, any hotel would be proud to have them as staff. We wouldn't hesitate to book the Pure Formosa Concept Hotel again if returning to Olhao."

Lovely stay

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is exactly as pictured. Staff was amazing. A few tiny gripes: there is no heated pool or jacuzzi, linens are done every 3rd day and only 1 towel per person is supplied. We did not feel misled in any way, but this is not the "typical" American experience. These small inconveniences did little to distract from a wonderful stay. The nearby beach is amazing. It is accessible by either hotel transport (included) or walking. We normally chose to walk for the exercise. Truly breathtaking beach. We went in their offseason (Feb - March). No crowds anywhere. Beach virtually empty, streets easy to navigate. For our family vacation, this was the perfect vibe. We will definitely be going back."
