"We were really disappointed on arrival as the hotel was covered in scaffolding and the entrance looked much more like a 1970s multi-storey carpark than a 4* hotel. The stairs (the lift was out of order), reception area and room were very dated. The soundproofing in the bathroom was non-existent (my wife could hear everything next door). Having said that the beds were comfortable, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok."

"The staff is truly exceptional, as is the location and suitability for theatre goers. This is an older hotel in some ways but we found it charming. Several steps or stairs in unusual places but so many smiles and kind words. Very nice breakfast and pre-dinner meals. Champagne cold and well-served. We have been to Stratford 6-7 times over the last decade and will always come here now."

"very comfortable stay in club double room which had a small fridge. the hotel is in the centre of stratford just over a bridge to the centre. it’s on the river side. dining is in bistro pierre which is in the hotel. great food and great service c"
