"Really good and far better than I expected based on pictures and details. Perfect for a 3 day break, it feels like the Keys even if it’s only Key Largo. I never left resort. Food service a little confused at times but it was New Years and the Keys do who knows. I will go again. I had low expectations but they were hugely exceeded. My room was great although water pressure was terrible. Friends rooms had ants but it’s the tropics so….Parking secure and under cover and no difficulty getting space. I hate the concept of a resort fee when you are literally paying for a resort but the fee wasn’t hidden so it wasn’t a surprise. Beach area good, plenty of chairs. Pool full of kids and noisy. Service on beach gir food and drinks was excellent once we got the right guy to serve us. Nice!"

"I read some reviews about mold in bathrooms and things falling apart… we did have a shower faucet that was partially coming off wall but the shower still worked just fine. The hotel has a handful of 2 bedroom suites with 1.5 baths and this was so great for family of 4. Rooms were separated by nice sitting area with couch and tv and kitchenette. The staff were super friendly and kind. We loved that they came from all over— Haiti, Dom Rep, Cuba, Sweden, more. The hotel is right across the street from Smathers Beach which was so great because it has lots of sand and swimming unlike most of the other hotels. The restaurant food was consistently good and the menu big enough to have several meals there and not feel tired by it. The fact that the hotel is 3m from old town was never a problem because of the free shuttle that runs on the hour feom 9am to 11pm. We will be back. "

"The rooms, including the bathroom, were recently renovated and were very clean. The staff were very friendly. I received a text shortly after check in to make sure my room was ok and if we needed anything to let them know- nice touch! They had a breakfast room with pancakes, waffles, omelets made to order, yogurts and fruits, bagels, toast, coffee and teas, cereals etc all complimentary. And speaking of complimentary, they had bikes, kayaks, paddle boards etc for your use. I would definitely recommend Chesapeake Beach Resort."

"We were on our way to Key West and last minute decided to leave one day early to spend the afternoon and night in Key Largo. Relaxing location with access to two restaurants/bars on the water. We enjoyed watching the boats come in from day trips and the sunset. We live in Central Florida and it's about 5 hours drive to Key Largo. Stopping gave us plenty of time to drive on down to Key West the next day."
