"I really think Descalzo is the best value for money you will find in Zipolyte. It’s a beautiful, family run hotel in a fantastic location half way along Zipolyte beach. The rooms are spacious and sensitively designed. Beds are superb and showers are strong. The upstairs rooms don’t have air con but they have a better view of the sea. Downstairs rooms are a little smarter with air con and a bathtub but have less of the treehouse feel to them. I love both. "

"Wow! I can’t find one mild complaint about this place! They are just perfect and close to the beach, but in the woods behind. It has a jungle feel. I never use the pool at a hotel, especially so close to the beach, but we loved going in the pool after dark. Love this place."

"The owner Alex is very nice and so is his staff. The location is excellent and I like the palapra with hammocks out front. The bar next door plays very loud music and the rooms are very, very basic. "
