"The staff make the entire experience of staying here; the best.They are a pleasure to have met and an asset to this hotel, Shrewsbury and set the bar. "We arrived to be told the authorities decided to close certain roads in the town on a Saturday and Sunday after COVID until 4pm .The car park was a 3 minute walk away but getting to it by car proved difficult as the SAT nav wanted to take us along the closed roads .After much frustration we got there in the end .It's sign posted for use of guests of the lion hotel but you can parkin it if you are staying at the Prince Rupert. Having got that advice out of the way on to the Prince Rupert...

"I was upgraded to the Holiday Inn next door as the International Hotel was closed for the Christmas period. Lovely hotel. Staff excellent. Very clean and comfortable. Overall, very pleasant stay. Only issue was the heating but this was dealt with immediately on request. I would definitely book this hotel again."

"Very comfortable and clean. Staff were excellent, pleasant and efficient. Accommodation is separate to the hotel so the room was nice and quiet. Meal at the pub was delicious and breakfast in the morning was really generous and cooked beautifully. Would definitely recommend."

"I arrived after a rather heart-stopping journey through Storm Darragh. And as I was checking in the power went off. There were a few refugees from the storm and staff who couldn't get home after their shift. The kitchen was in darkness and powerless so no food available but the bar did stay open! The staff were cheerful and helpful finding a duvet to wrap up a chilly lady. True community spirit at it's best!"

"Lovely spa area and pool. Very clean. All staff really friendly and helpful. Lovely bar area and separated areas from watching sky sports, or not. Nice hotel and 12 mile circular route (walk or bike) was great. Only negative is the noise in the corridors and neighbouring rooms. Could fully hear the bbc news from next door and any noise from people in the corridors. "

"What a wonderful mini break for my husband and I plus our two little dogs. We stayed at The Fox and were greeted warmly by staff on arrival. Everyone was so friendly. The town was absolutely stunning, gorgeous buildings, quaint shops and pubs. We ate in The Fox on our first night and the food was wonderful and great value for money! Our little dogs enjoyed their stay also and were fussed over by everyone! Highly recommend The Fox if you’re in the area"
