"Kula Maya is definitely the highlight of San Marcos, having the most excellent views and a friendly staff. The town is very charming and much more enjoyable than some of the busier towns on other parts of the lake. The restaurant has great food and a nice high-end bar selection. Prices are quite a bit higher than anything in the area, but the atmosphere makes it very worth it. The rooms could have been better-sealed to keep wind and bugs out, but I guess it can't be perfect in an eco-friendly...

"An amazing hillside property overlooking the lake. Our yurt was high up near the gate and we did a lot of climbing up and down to swim, use the sauna and eat and drink. With a few improvements and repairs this property will fully shine!"

"We had a great time, great experience everything was wonderful the breakfast. Everything was so beautiful. The only thing that we did not like it was that when we bought our ticket through Expedia says that the airport was 1:15 from us he hotel and that was a big lie, it was almost 3 hours and a half away from the airport that it was kind of disappointing for us because we were expecting to get there sooner. That was only unexpected time for us, other than that, we had a great time there. "

"Beautiful property, great location and friendly staff. Definitely a great recommendation for a unique stay for those looking for "adventure travel" to Lake Atitlán that want peace and quiet. If you are more accustomed to bougie traveling you might want to consider more traditional hotel as you do need to prepare for a little walking up the stairs to your room and no heat when it can get cold in November. Very picturesque and highly recommended."
