"This was a trip to Puerto Cayo. Puerto Cayo is a very very very sleepy little village west of Jipijapa. You have to want to go there. There has to be a reason. Otherwise, most people head to Frailes or up to Manta. If you want quiet and no people -- not cars in the streets or motorcycles making noise, then Puerto Cayo is for you. "We checked out after one sleepless night. Our room was so loud inside it felt like we were in a nightclub, but worse, because it was a mixture of 3-4 nearby clubs and bars music. The hostel itself hadn’t even started any live music yet when we arrived. I don’t know how the Hostel can actually charge money for this room, let alone nearly 100 dollars.
