The bathroom looked as if it could do with updating a little. Shower screen needed to be a little bigger, the floor and bathmat got very wet the first time I used it! Wardrobe space very limited. I was in a Privilege room alone. If there were 2 people staying for more than a few days the space for clothing would be inadequate. Overall the hotel and particularly the staff made for a very pleasant stay.

The hotel is right in the middle of Princes Street with easy access to almost anything in Old Town and New Town and beyond because the Tram and bus stops are just a short walk down the street. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The property is old and although I can tell that the staff attempts to keep it maintained, it is not luxury. A standard room is small, and space is limited. That said, it IS perfect for the traveler who just wants a clean place to sleep after a long day of walking/traveling around Edinburgh.

This hotel is very conveniently located close to shops and public transportation. The AC wasn't working as they were still undergoing refurbishment but the staff was helpful with a fan and extension cord; and luckily the weather was cooler. Lovely restaurant with a great view of Edinburgh Castle. Would recommend to anyone
