"We enjoyed two nights at this grande dame which is looking a little tired. Excellent service throughout but its faded glamour does not live up to its reputation. We took an informative tour of the hotel but the hallway of fame is very underwhelming. Only a handful of famous guests are actually photographed at the hotel itself and no dates are given for when they stayed. "Lovely old building, with lots of character. Admittedly the condition is slightly dated, but is part of the charm! Marianne was very helpful, explaining the local area and arranging a taxi for us. Bedroom very spacious and the pool area overlooking the city is brilliant! Santa Teresa is a cool neighbourhood too. Would recommend. "

"A week ago we were reading online reviews, trying to figure out where to stay in massive Rio. It was a 3 night trip before traveling on, and we wanted an escape, proximity to the main sights, a beach, and uncover a gem. Jackpot in Casa Mosquito. "Very slow checkin... but very nice! One of the elevators was not working so it would sometimes take a while to get to your room. The lobby was nice and the rooms we ok.. a bit outdated but nice size rooms Air conditioning worked well. Breakfast buffet was very nice with great selections! Overall not a bad hotel for the price! Was great location for The concerts I was there to see!"
