"Very pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and size of the room...looks to have been recently renovated. A delightful hotel in a great area of downtown close to all the shopping. But most of all the service was amazing...all the staff was very friendly and helpful with whatever our needs were. Definitely will be staying here again when we are up this way."

"Overall excellent. Only (minor) problem was that the first night was pretty cold, and there was no heat in the room. The second night the host provided a ceramic electric heater and that made the cabin very cosy."

"There were gadens along the pathto the rooms where you can observe the birds. We even had a Quetzal one morning in the property Breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly. However, the receptionist could not speak very good english and we struggled to communicate with him"

"This was my second visit one of the best hotels in the Savegre Valley for birders. The accommodations are excellent (including heating in the rooms & hot showers!), with the mountain-view villas being especially good for birders. A major bonus is a wonderful bird-feeding area attracting lots of hummingbirds & frugivores. The only drawback on this visit was the disappointing meals on our first evening - I hope just a reflection of temporary staffing problems. Fortunately excellent restaurants...

It's a small boutique hotel on top of a mountain: the view is STUNNING, we saw more animals during breakfast than in parks we had visited previously. George is incredible: he did a tour with us each morning to show us where the slot was hiding, where the frogs were... He is very friendly, helpful but also respects your privacy. "We loved the jungle-like setting of the hotel! It was so beautiful & our French doors with gorgeous wood blinds opened up to our patio where we could sit out & enjoy the sounds & the animals. We weren't able to book consecutive nights in one room during our stay so we changed rooms after 2 nights. The staff carried our luggage to the next room & took care of everything and it was seamlessly done by 10am. Michael had changed the settings on our smart tv in our first room so it was in English. The room for our next 3 nights did not have a smart tv and the management offered to install a brand new tv so we could watch Netflix at night! The staff were all so kind and greeted us by name whenever we passed by. Elmer was a chef & Emilie was one of the servers and bartender. Happy hour by the pool was wonderful!! We have already reserved our room for January of 2026!!!"

"Great hotel I will be back. My only complaint was the air conditioner. I feel like they need another. One for the size of the room was very hard to get the temperature down to a normal range. The staff are amazing and it's in a beautiful location. I will be back."

"We stayed at the La Mariposa corner sunset room for 3 days. The wraparound balcony is of course the highlight of our stay here. Everyday we woke up by around 5am to hear the howler monkeys and see the sunrise while sipping a cup of coffee. As the day went by with many activities around Manuel Antonio, we made sure to be back to our room by 4pm. We figured that was the prime time to start watching birds fly back to their nests. We were lucky to see so many scarlet macaws, toucans, hawks, green parrots, and so many other varieties of birds right from our balcony! And then the sunset would invariably paint the sky with the most beautiful shades of red and orange. Being high up in our 4th floor room we had almost a 200 degree view of the Manuel Antonio beach, the ocean, and the surrounding forest. We also enjoyed very good spreads of breakfast everyday, interactions with helpful staff members, and other amenities that the resort provides. The hotel grounds are also very well maintained with lush landscaping that blends into the natural surroundings. This is a must stay place while at Manuel Antonio."

"The hotel was absolutely beautiful beyond words. It’s situated right in the middle of nature and you can see the ocean from many points of the property. There are several beautiful pools. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We saw so much wildlife on the hotel grounds: sloths, monkeys, frogs, etc. Staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. This is where you want to stay in Manuel Antonio! "
