"Very friendly and helpful staff, they gave us information to find our way into Strasbourg by tram, which was about a 10 minute walk from hotel. It’s a little remote so walking back late at night made my partner feel a little uncomfortable, but having said that we didn’t encounter any problems. We found the hotel room a little chilly in the evening, and TV channels in English were very limited. We watched Netflix from our phone instead with free Wi-Fi. "Charming historic hotel with large rooms and bathrooms! Decorated beautifully for the holidays and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The balcony overlooking the charming courtyard was awesome. There are plenty of public spaces to gather in and the bar is friendly. I can only imagine how adorable this hotel is in the summer with flowers spilling over the window boxes. "

We could hear the muffled conversations of people in the room next door and a lot of noise from the street from people who had very much enjoyed the Christmas market gluhwein. Otherwise, the room was nice, clean and comfortable and the hotel was lovely. Staff were kind and helpful. "

Lovely little hotel

"Nice hotel. Dinner surprisingly tasty for a small hotel but beware it was meant to be cash only which we didn't know so the owner kindly added it to our hotel bill. Rooms nice and comfortable although kids had to sleep in a sofa converted bunk bed. Proprietor is very nice. Parking is ample. "

Cool hotel - comfortable rooms.

"The hotel design is incredible- I hadn't realised that the property had been a prison - unique and interesting and all decoration is to a high standard. Rooms are very comfortable. 1 downside- we arrived late after being delayed due to the most horrendous electrical storm and had called ahead to say we were going to be late and ask if the restaurant would still be open (or we would stop on the way). We were told that it would be open until 11. We eventually arrived at 10. We got food but the bar menu was essentially bruschetta or beef tartare. My colleague is gluten intolerant and asked if she could have a omelette but was told no. We asked for dessert at 10.50 and were told that the kitchen was closed. The staff were professional but there was no flexibility for very tired, hungry travellers who have to look to the hotel as a home from home when they are away. It was a bit of a shame. When you travel a lot what makes things easier and the difference from a good experience to a great experience is empathy."
