Paripueira Beach is a glorious stretch of sand with natural pools and shallow water. It is the site of one of the world’s largest networks of coral reefs. Walk a fair distance into the ocean with the water barely covering your knees.

The shallow bay has around 20 natural pools where you will find all manner of fish, coral and other marine treasures. Paripueira Beach overlooks the Atlantic Ocean on Brazil’s northeastern coast. It is 19 miles (30 kilometers) north of Maceió and 160 miles (260 kilometers) south of Recife. The northern part of the beach is the quieter and more secluded part. Stay at one of the nearby posadas and hotels in this fairly built-up area.
