"I enjoyed my stay at the Royal Rio Palace Hotel. It was perfectly located two blocks from Copacabana Beach. The rooms are modern and elegant. The breakfast buffet was impressive and had so many options you couldn’t try them all. It is in a safe area and centrally located. They have rooftop pools if the beach isn’t your thing or an indoor pool for wet days. We will return when we come back to Rio. "

"We reserved a Family Suite which advertised having a king bed for parents plus a twin bed for a kid. What they gave us seemed like an upgrade compared to what was advertised: two adjoining rooms, one with a king bed, the other with two twin beds, so that our kid got her own room with its own bathroom. It did have an ”ocean view” in the sense that it faced a side street, but you could look to one side and see the beach and ocean (and look the other way to see the hill with the Christ.) There was a small swimming pool on the roof. There wasn’t a hot tub, but the roof had excellent views day and night, and the roof level offered additional dining options. There was also a restaurant on the ground floor where we had a decent breakfast buffet every morning, which included fixings to make sandwiches for lunch as well. We also tried dinner in the restaurant once, although that area has lots of other dining options. The location is a beautiful world famous beach in a nice neighborhood, right next to the famous Copacabana Palace. Even in a great part of Rio like this, we were still concerned about crime, and took precautions about where we walked at night and kept valuables such as our wallets in the room safe instead of carrying everything around with us. The room upgrade process was a little confusing but the cost was reasonable and worth the money. The location was great as well. Will definitely return. "

"This is a very beautiful hotel. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The best part of my stay was my room and soaking tub. Everything in the hotel and surrounding area was affordable including a massage on site at the spa. The fashion mall is a few yards away. I was able to get an adapter for my phone charger there. I also was able to book a tour through the hotel, this was cheaper than the other sources I was looking into. Overall, I’d recommend and return. "
