Discover a variety of music, comedy and other shows under one roof in this Florida city that has lots of entertainment.

Once a place of worship, the Palladium Theater at St. Petersburg College, or simply Palladium SPC, is now a special entertainment center. Its start in the arts world began in 1998 when a group of art philanthropists saw the need for a theater serving Florida’s Tampa Bay area. St. Petersburg College became the new owner in 2007. The theater’s alliance with the college allows its students a unique opportunity of meeting artists and discussing a career in the music business. Join students and local residents in appreciating great performances when you visit the Palladium Theater.

The list of shows is extensive, with the theater’s website an excellent place to find out what’s playing. The selection covers jazz, rock, soul, blues, and classical music, comedy and more, with multiple different shows even occurring the same day in separate venues.

Be entertained in one of two theaters: the 850-seat Hough Hall or the intimate 175-seat Side Door. The theater has several artist-in-residence groups including the Palladium Chamber Players, the Florida Björkestra and BEACON Contemporary Dance.

Attend a show at Hough Hall where the superb acoustics of the venue provide everyone with a memorable experience.

The Side Door is a place to listen to established and emerging artists in a nightclub atmosphere, where patrons can enjoy refreshments at linen-draped, candlelit tables, while being able to dance to the live music.

Accessible parking is available in the theater’s lot, although it can get busy close to show time. Plan to go earlier to find a parking space and include a pre-show dinner at an area restaurant alternatively find a nearby lot, garage or street parking in the neighborhood. At least one restaurant allows its patrons to park in their lot while attending a show.

Palladium Theater at St. Petersburg College is open daily, with ticket sales at its box office or online. Support the arts scene by attending a show while visiting the St. Petersburg area.
