Although they literally made me wait on the first day till exactly 3PM to check in the staff was truly amazing and friendly. You can’t get a better location in the whole city. We stayed at the Karl August Hotel based on location and modern facilities but we’re disappointed. We got 2 rooms and the rooms are extremely small and the air conditioning did not work at all. We got a poor nights sleep as our rooms were hot! If you’re looking for a hotel with A/C please look elsewhere.

I only had a short stay, but the hotel was perfect for my needs. Nice atmosphere and very comfortable bed. The reception staff were amazing: very friendly and accommodating to a non-German speaker. The coffee and croissant at the café were delicious! Can't speak highly enough!
