National Stadium

National Stadium showing night scenes

Take a tour of this symbolic building, home to the Polish national football team and an important center for sports and culture in Warsaw.

The National Stadium is the largest and most innovative stadium in Poland. Opened in 2012 for soccer during the European Football Championship, the stadium now attracts more than 140,000 people every month. Come for a tour and learn about the stadium’s construction or participate in one of the diverse events regularly hosted here.

Reaching 164 feet (50 metres) above the field at its highest point, the stadium has a distinct profile that can be spotted from many areas of Warsaw. Check out the excellent view of the stadium from Zamkowy Square. Its façade is comprised of red-and-white aluminium panels, which are designed to resemble a waving Polish flag.

Notice how this nationally inspired colour scheme is continued inside the stadium, where the seats are also white and red. One of the stadium’s most unique features is its retractable roof, which can open above the field.

Admire the view from Lookout Point in the upper stands. The stadium can accommodate more than 58,000 spectators. Aside from soccer games, it frequently hosts concerts and other events, with past performers such as Florence and the Machine, Paul McCartney and Coldplay.

Take advantage of the guided tours of the stadium, which are offered at regular intervals through the day. The tour includes access to a number of player-only and VIP zones. The stadium also hosts special lunches in its Business Club on Sundays, during which families can eat a meal while enjoying the view over the stadium.

Explore the area surrounding the stadium, including a municipal park where you’ll find paths for cycling, running and rollerblading. The park also hosts a variety of events throughout the summer, such as art exhibitions, so find out what is happening during your visit.

The National Stadium is located on the east bank of the Vistula River, about 2 miles (3 kilometres) from the Old Town. The stadium is open daily. Get here by bus or tram. Access to the stadium is free, but the tours have fees.
