"First off, from the moment I stepped into my spacious King Bed Room with Fireplace, I was immediately struck by the clean smelling room. I was so enchanted by the towel animals in the bathroom and toilet roll that I had to send photos back home to my family. At night, I was so cozy in my comfortable Kingsized Bed and lit fireplace. Another plus is the bathrobe and slippers which I used nightly. My husband underwent Cancer Surgery at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and I don't think I could have gotten a better choice for the closeness to the hospital each day. I was alone and felt completely safe because the hotel is quiet and set back a little from street traffic. In the evening, I went to Whole Foods across the street to buy my ready made dinner. I was under a lot of stress because of my husband's surgery but being so close to him and having such a wonderful haven to return and decompress each night made my stay such a delight! When my husband was discharged a day earlier than expected, the desk clerk was so accommodating and understanding. I loved the Mariposa Inn and Suites! The price was reasonable and I feel totally spoiled by the room amenities. The continental breakfast was fine and suited my modest needs. I would definitely stay here again for a getaway or a place to rest if a family members needs to go to the hospital."

"We have stayed at the Victoria Inn several times over the last few years. We enjoy Monterey and vicinity, and the hotel is a fine stay. The breakfast is not lavish, but plenty of fine options. The nightly wine (or juices) and cheese is similarly low-key but a nice light snack after an afternoon out. The hotel is walking distance to the Monterey Aquarium, plenty of restaurants, Cannery Row, and Carmel or the 17 mile drive are a short drive away. The rooms are well-equipped, a good size, bath and bed are good, fine tv, etc. I also love ceramic mugs and reall glasses instead of cardboard and plastic in the room, so points for that. Overall, a good place to stay in a good location."

"I really enjoyed my stay at this property as I haven't been back in years. The room was a bit smaller than I had remembered on my last visit but it did serve the purposes I need for this weekend. Unfortunately, there was severe weather storm that knocked out power on the day I was leaving and it made it challenging to obtain a final receipt and coffee. This location is walkable to downtown Monterey and close to mass transit. It is a beautiful property with a secret herb garden and beautiful swimming pool. "
