"The Pros: The hotel is big, with wonderful mountain and ocean views. Rooms are big. The staff was mostly very courteous. The Cons: Built in the 1980s, the hotel doesn’t appear to have been renovated since then, giving it a “lost in time” feel. Very outdated facilities for charging electronic devices. Beds not comfortable. Food at the restaurant is expensive and mediocre. The hotel is also A LONG WAY from the ferry terminal (50 minutes) and the airport (35 minutes). Without a car, it would not...

"What a delightful stay! This was absolutely perfect for my time on Yakushima, and exceeded my expectations. The owner was very welcoming, speaks excellent English, and clearly takes pride in the property, which is in a quiet and scenic spot but a short drive from town and convenient to arrival/departure points.
