"Had a great stay at the Royal hotel, we were given a recently refurbished room, even though we had a dog with us. The room was lovely and modern with everything you might need. The hotel is currently in the process of being updated so the bar area was unavailable although a small bar has been moved into the small room at the front of the hotel. There is seating outside the front of the hotel with complimentary blankets to keep you warm. Obviously the new bar will be a great addition soon. Check in was easy, although there was a £20 per night charge for the dog!! Breakfast was lovely, during the week this was table service and at the weekends it was a buffet style. There was plenty of continental and hot food available, all cooked to our liking. The location is perfect for us, with views over the sea and the abbey. Overall we had a great stay and would return and recommend to others."
