"Late arrival good reception by staff , room clean and welcoming"

"Enjoyed my two-night stay at The Alan. The room was spacious and beautifully designed. Bed and sofa both really comfortable. There were some ups and downs with the service - breakfast on our first day was borderline shambolic, though on day two it was great. Our room was not properly cleaned (bed was made but tea/coffee not replenished and bins not emptied). This was made worse by their ‘WhatsApp the reception desk’ concept where we then asked for the tea/coffee to be replenished, were told...

"Very clean and modern hotel which is in a great location for access to the station and within walking distance to the main shopping, eating and drinking areas. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had good facilities however my only criticism would be that it was quite dark, even with all the lights on. Other than that, it was a good standard and I would stay there again. "

The breakfast buffet had tasty sausages and the wait staff and location gave an air of sophistication. A few too many niggling downsides, however, given it's premium to surrounding hotels.
