Get a wonderful introduction to this diverse, cosmopolitan city by watching a show here at the arts centre. Two impressive performance areas provide an unforgettable setting with a variety of genres to choose from. See the stars of the future act and sing at the 400-seat Royal Bank Theatre or marvel as superb orchestras and bands fill every cubic foot of the 1,300-person capacity Hammerson Hall with magnificent music.
No evening at the theatre is complete without great food and drink. Excellent cuisine and cocktails are provided at the Live Restaurant on the ground floor. Settle in with the sumptuous pre-show dinner buffet. After the performance enjoy coffee and dessert before heading home for the night. The lunchtime menu offers lighter fare for visitors coming to see the gallery during the day.
Intended to nurture and support artists in the community, exhibits at the arts centre are often bright and refreshingly different. Wander between rooms and see paintings and sculptures that highlight the region’s dynamic social and geographic makeup.
For a more hands-on experience, reserve a spot in one of the centre’s regular lessons and workshops. Make a choice from instruction in filmmaking or improvisation as well as crafts such as woodcarving, glass blowing and ceramics.
The Living Arts Centre is located in the heart of Mississauga, 650 feet (200 metres) west of the Civic Centre. Entry to the gallery is free although donations are appreciated.
