wonderful place to stay.
We stayed with Jenny and Chris en route from Spain to the UK. Being ex-military I have always been absorbed with the 2 world wars. For several years we have toured the Somme and Ypres but this year we wanted to tour the Normandy landing beaches.
What a gem of a find for accommodation. Jenny and Chris live in a beautiful, characteristic farm house, it ouses the charm of its hosts. Their house is out in the wonderful French countryside but is within striking distance of all of the D Day Landing beaches, especially Aromanches and the Bayeux Tapestry.
And so to the Hosts Jenny and Chris. They are so welcoming and extremely personable. They provide a wonderful continental type breakfast with lovely home cooked additions such as Jenny’s savoury muffins and homemade marmalade. Chris is a veritable walking almanac of everything D Day. This is not an exaggeration in fact from Chris it is very under stated. However, he provided us with superb itineraries and a great deal of local knowledge.
We were the last guests of their season but we had a welcome freshness as if we were their first. We enjoyed their company, over a glass of wine, and some dubious local brews provided by Chris, each evening of our stay.
If you are wanting to tour the D Day Landing beaches in Normandy then staying with Jenny and Chris is the perfect location.
