"Quirky little place. No curtains in any of the rooms we saw, just a heavy lace. Your door was either deadlocked or open, no snib lock, turn your hot water on 10 minutes before your shower or it will be cold, very little storage space and small bathroom. "We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. From the ferry, we suggest you use mainly roads, rather than paths up the mountain if you have luggage. The walking paths have uneven steps and are quite quaint when just going for a stroll. We felt welcomed the moment we walked into this homelike hotel. "The hotel is set in a small village on the top of a hill overlooking Lake Como. The view is gorgeous, the restaurant was awesome and the staff are so lovely. I didn’t find the room particularly comfortable but we stayed in the least expensive room so perhaps the more expensive ones are a bit cozier. Our room was very basic and a bit run down but it’s an old building and has a lot of charm. Overall, it’s lovely but if you want luxury, I would recommend upgrading your room to a suite. "We very rarely pay and upcharge for a room with a view since we generally just use our hotel room for sleeping. We are so glad we paid for a view. Our room looked out onto Lake Como with the Alps as a backdrop. Spectacular. The hotel is a short 10 minute drive down the hills to Bellagio. If you don't have a car they have a shuttle van that will take you back and forth. The rooms are very comfy and since we visited in February, the heated tile floors were a welcome amenity. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have a restaurant on site that offers a buffet breakfast and dinner. The breakfast offerings are varied and the dinners we had were exceptional. We were only in the room for two nights but it was so relaxing and peaceful it felt like a week. "

"We booked a last minute stay at this hotel for New Years Eve. We booked two rooms, and both were upgraded to have a lake view, and the hotel was kind enough to give us connecting rooms since we were there with our two tween sons. The hotel was in a PERFECT - PERFECT location!! The rooms were comfortable and had balconies. We would have had a perfect spot to watch all of the NYE fireworks, if not for the fact that our sons wanted to be on the lakefront. :) I absolutely recommend this hotel for a stay in Como!!!"
