Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Much improvement needed
There was a funky smell from the toilet every day. The aircon somehow went into low power mode every few minutes and this caused our nights to be rather warm. When we switched to the fan, due to some allergy, I kept coughing all night. With the aircon, this did not happen. The fan only had full power on speed 5 but not on speed 4 which was slow so we had to use speed 5 almost all the time to feel cool.
On one occasion, we left the room and the informed the staff to clean our room but when we came back, the room was in the same condition. The next day we found out by ourselves that the cleaner lady had injured her hand and it was bandaged. We were not informed by anyone else that this had happened.
On another occasion, we came back to the room early and when my companion was about to take a shower, suddenly there was no water. I had to quickly rush out to check with the receptionist on the matter and was told the water would be switched on in about five minutes. Again, we had to find this out by ourselves. The receptionist could have informed us when we got back or at least left a note to all the guests to inform us on this issue.
The receptionist was also always on the phone and was not very receptive to our queries and so after a while, we just stopped asking questions. We weren't given fresh toilet rolls after each room cleaning.
This could have been a better home stay for us if these basic needs were met.
On the plus side, the boss was a nice and friendly man.
