A great way to explore the sand dunes is as part of a camel safari or caravan. Sit atop a colourfully dressed camel and travel in convoy over the ever-shifting dunes. Ride to spectacular sunset viewpoints and witness the amazing transformation as the sky turns into a sea of stars.
During a safari you’ll get the chance to visit communities and get a sense of the residents’ remote lifestyle. Watch for desert birdlife, including the great Indian bustard and demoiselle crane. Khuri Sand Dunes are accessible year-round. However, expect extreme heat during the summer months. November to February presents almost idyllic weather conditions, with mild days and cool evenings.
