"There were no keys for our hotel room. Instead, the staff locked us in our rooms at night. We were expected to call down and request to have them opened. They clearly did not expect us to stay more than one night or perhaps a couple of hours And I was more than a little uncomfortable with the idea that they could come in whenever they liked, and I had no control. "We were a family with young children and stayed for 4 nights. The hotel itself is great - the size and amenities available (they have a whole range of baby items and other handy items that you can request for FOC) is unbeatable in Japan. However, the location of the property itself is in a seedy area, amidst rows of very colorful nightclubs. On the first night, we were awoken at 2am by a fight but otherwise we got back by 8.30pm every night and never felt unsafe."
