"I’ve been staying at the Niranta over several years and it is slowly but surely going down in maintenance. The telephone in my room didn’t work, so I had to go up to the desk to ask for anything including room service. At the desk, they didn’t even blink when I said the telephone wasn’t working, nor did they make any attempt to fix it. I guess they knew it already. The surfaces were also kind of spotty. Other than that, it was OK. Quick and convenient place to rest."

"The experience at the Reception Counter was terrible - they were a confused lot and mixed up the room numbers for my guests, gave wrong keys and as a result it was a horrible start for a couple of them into Ginger. "

"This is not a place for outsiders. All of the other guests in the (tiny) bunks were poor Indian men on their way to be, say, a guest laborer somewhere (one man showed me his visa to Ghana). Anyway, it was awkward AF, so I powered through a couple nights and then moved next-door to the Afra hostel — still pretty much a local place, but MUCH better, and I even made some new good friends there. Actual showers, a few western toilets, a men's wing, a woman's wing, and a mixed dorm, no hangout space,...
