This a great B & B in a lovely little village, run by a friendly and helpful couple. It is also doubles as tea room with a beautiful well-kept garden. Stairs are steep but if you are walking the Wall that is hardly a problem.
We stayed here after booking.com cancelled our nearby booking without informing us but the way it turned out, we could not be more pleased. We booked with about 5 minutes notice and were welcomed immediately. The garden here is beautiful and great to sit in on a warm afternoon with a glass of wine from the honesty bar.
We had an observatory experience booked in Wark and got a lift there and back at the times we needed for £4 each way. Breakfast was good quality and included fresh fruit, juices, cereals, coffee and a full English.
Overall this was a very nice if short stay and I would happily return if in the area.
Great owners who'll do anything to make your stay more pleasant. Hadrian's Wall is only a 2 mile walk along a quiet country lane. Countryside is magnificent.
Took a while to find the great area to visit and walk Hadrian's Wall.Easy drive to Newcastle and the gardens at Langley. Nice dining at Wark and pub at Wall.

A little haven of tranquility!
The Simonburn B&B really is in a beautifully peaceful location. Ann is a very welcoming host and takes care of you. We stayed in the Double room which was comfortable and a decent size. It overlooks the lovely gardens.
Negative point: The Simonburn B&B website and Expedia who we booked through, DON'T say there is only 1 shared bathroom between the 3 rooms, a possible 8 people. The family of 3 tied up the shower room/toilet for an hour and a half at night and an hour before and after breakfast in the morning. We had to get a wash and brush our teeth in the toilet for the tearooms. The shared bathroom should be pointed out on the website and booking sites.
However, this is a lovely B&B and would recommend staying here due to it's location.
I really enjoyed my stay here. Lovely view and just such a friendly atmosphere. Ann (and her dog) were just tremendous. I would (and do) highly recommend
We were attending a sailing event at Derwent Water and I left booking accommodation until very late. Simonburn Tearooms was all that was left within half an hour at a reasonable price. I was not disappointed, the twin room was clean and comfortably furnished, it wasn't ensuite but I don't think any of the rooms were. It didn't bother us as we were out and about earlier than the other guests. The owner has a teashop where wine, beer and soft drinks are also available. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The only slight concern would be that the cooked breakfast was a little on the small side considering it is frequented by walkers and cyclists. On the whole it was a lovely weekend and I would recommend the Simonburn tearooms, in fact I already have to my dad!
People wonderful, the only downside is the shared bathroom. Gardens lovely with plenty of birds visiting throughout our stay. Would definitely think about using again if travelling to Northumberland. Very quiet with no road noise or light pollution. If you like tranquility then this is for you.
The only toilet or shower for all residents (6 or possibly 8) was in one small shared room. Full English Breakfast amounted to hard fried egg, one rasher of burnt bacon and a sausage
Un B&B molto carino in una zona estremamente tranquilla. Sarebbe stato bello fermarsi e poter riposare un paio di giorni ma eravamo solo di passaggio mentre percorrevamo il Vallo di Adriano.
