"I wasn’t expecting too much but it did surprise me. It is a basic hotel. Nothing flash but for the price and location (assuming you want to be in the area as I needed to be), it was great. The room was spacious. The only thing to be aware of there are no toiletries - no shampoo, only a very small bar of soap (they do provide towels). There is a shopping mall by the main train station just up from the hotel. The breakfast was good, and the staff helpful. It may feel like a dodgy area but it...

"Very nice rooms with little balcony, bathroom and kitchen, nicely furnished. Unfortunately the communication about the PIN code on how to access the building and room got ‚blocked‘ by hotel.com and arrived 24 h later. Thankfully the lady still worked… 30 min later she would have been gone. "

"This was a very nice modern clean hotel situated close to a metro stop. My only issues were that the front desk helps see minimal and at one point there were six people behind me online to check in. Also, when came in the front desk use their card to allow them in the elevator. It didn’t work and for 10 minutes they just went up and down and nowhere the right way. "The best thing about this property is the location. It is a 2 minute walk to checkpoint Charlie, which is on a Main Street (Frederick strasse). I picked this so that I could walk out the door, grab breakfast at McDonald’s and then onto the big red bus. It went perfectly. At night it’s a little walk down Frederick Strasse to restaurants. The room was clean and adequate. If I was to make any complaint it would be that the pull out couch was uncomfortable but that’s why a 20 year old slept on it instead of an old man. I would definitely stay here again. "

"If you’re reading this review and you’re on the fence about staying at the Steinenberger, save your time and just book it. I’m an avid review reader and am here to say that words cannot describe how amazing our stay was!!! You step outside the Hauptbahnhof (on the side with the Rewe to boot) and you’re already there. The grounds were gorgeous and felt super safe. We were greeted by Onur (spelling?) and the residential robot cat, Ella. I’ve never walked into a hotel so happy, and we walked up to the room even happier. Onur might be the best concierge we have ever met. What an amazing representation of your awesome city—recommending personalized sites for us to see that transcend the typical Berlin experience as well as recommended food and convenient spots near the hotel we’d need to know. He was beyond delightful and set the stage for the next two days. The rooms? Immaculate. Virtually silent. Completely spotless, beautiful lighting. We didn’t really have a view, but didn’t really need one thanks to jet lag. We enjoyed several hours of Bernd das Brot on the tv. The bed was unbeLIEVABLY comfortable. If we were in any other city I’d had just stayed in bed all day. The soft pillow changed my life. The bathroom was swanky and beautiful,…the SHOWER?! Water pressure was supreme, temperature, impeccable. Housekeeping was awesome. I’m getting cut short here but have to say this hotel really set off Berlin for us. It breaks my heart to leave. You can’t go wrong with this hotel! "
