"There are only a few Western chain hotels in San Salvador. They are located away from the major city attractions. Novo is on a quiet street, but just a few blocks from the main street through town. You can walk to the famous landmarks. This is a basic hotel: old furniture, no carpets, minimal amenities. But the price reflects that. It's a good value. When I'm looking for a good deal, I just care about whether the hotel is clean and safe. Novo is clean and safe. There's 24/7 front desk, plus it is on a very quiet street. Many staff speak English. Two things seem more modern: the pool and the air-conditioning. If you had to choose just two modern features, those are good choices."
