"The property must've looked stunning when built, but years of neglect show noticeably. Staff is very friendly but I think they're not very expert in running an accommodation as a business, so it was a lot of hit and miss. The owner must be obsessed with Versace, as everything has been marked with a fake Medusa logo, which more than classy looks tacky (but that's personal taste). The property is very far from everything and only accessible through a narrow scary road, so once you're in you're unlikely to be wanting to leave again. WiFi is way too weak to even check Facebook and only fee rooms have Netflix. Food is lovely but dinner are way overpriced. Location is very nice and secluded. Katerina who is there for a few weeks more is amazing! All in all, I think it is overpriced for what it is. Or the property should make that but if an effort to turn the place around."

"Relaxing 2 nights. The views are incredible. Easy access to Little Adams Peak. A short tuktuk to 9 arches bridge or town centre. Breakfast wonderful with lovely fruit and other good choices. Dinner good. The only negative is that the pool is in a sister resort club which requires entry fee."

"Ella Retreat is a small, hillside resort of about 4 or 5 units ranging from small villas to glamping tents. The villa had a lovely outdoor decking area with hammock. The tent, an outdoor bathroom and fabulous views of the waterfall. The rooms are clean and tidy but do expect insects ( and monkeys) as the resort is in the jungle. The staff are v friendly and you can pre order food to eat at your villa. Not suitable if you have mobility issues as the resort is built into the steep hillside. You can walk down the slope to the nearest waterfall but Ella itself is not really walking distance. You must arrive by tuk tuk as cars cannot get up the narrow, steep track . Transfer to the train station was complimentary and much appreciated. Would stay again. "

"Nestled in Ella on WaterFalls Rd is the ‘Ella Alpine Resort’ offering a serene stay, great views and service. We booked a 4-night stay and our room was clean & comfortable. I requested a hair dryer and one was promptly delivered! Currently under new ownership and undertaking improvements, the owner kindly checked in via WhatsApp, before arrival, on arrival and during our stay. The new onsite manager, Priyanatha is also amazing! He was welcoming and made our stay very comfortable and memorable. Breakfast (if your room includes this) was always prepared fresh by the cook with delicious fresh fruit & juice each day to your liking or request. On one night we requested dinner (as we were returning late after a day trip) and this was made to our requests and was also yummy! The property is walking distance to the town Center or a tuk tuk will also get you there. Only issue is the road to access the property. I know this has nothing specifically to do with the Alpine Resort! However many hotels, resorts, home stays, rooms to rent are on this road and it would be awesome if they banded together to ensure access is improved. Currently some sections are narrow and difficult to drive making it difficult for cars and even the Tuktuks! Recommend this hotel for a wonderful getaway from the noise and bustle of the town. Night skies are just awesome!"
