This place is fine. We arrived in mid-September, so that may have affected our experience. The rooms were fine. It's a place to stay. It is an easy walk to the few shops and restaurants and a nice hike to the park. Dining had limited options, especially for breakfast. Park tour buses stop here, which is also a plus. Pickup from the train station is available for an extra price. It was convenient to use as you get a tag for the hotel when you check into the train, and they take from there to the hotel. I would recommend it as a fine base for your Denali adventure.

Arriving by train and having check-in combined with the shuttle ride up to the hotel was super slick. My room was giant, had a great view, and was clean and comfy. Only downside: the shuttle into the park took forever, and I ended up walking instead most of the time. If you aren't there as part of a cruise/tour, just be prepared for most of the guests to be cruise ship people.

The property is one of the closest to the Denali entrance with an hourly shuttle to Denali you can walk to Denali, takes about an hour to reach the visitor center There is a small strip of shops near the hotel but need to walk down a steep hill to get there
