Dadaepo Beach

Head to Busan’s most popular beach for a day of swimming, building sand castles and watching the impressive musical fountain show.

Dadaepo Beach is Busan’s most famous stretch of sand. Join locals at this delightful beach where the waters are shallow and gentle, there are plenty of facilities and the scenery is beautiful. There is also the rather impressive Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dream spectacle to enjoy too.

The sands that form Dadaepo Beach come from the Nakdonggang River. The beach is wide and spacious and the waters are generally calm, making this a favourite spot with Busan families who have young children. While away warm summer days here, watching your family play in the sand and paddle in the water as you soak up the sun.

The well-maintained facilities here add to Dadaepo Beach’s popularity. Enjoy the free showers, the drinking fountains and the snack bar.

Take your camera and arrive at the beach just in time for the legendary sunset. Join other amateur and professional photographers as they set up their tripods to capture the glowing red and orange sun as it dips below the horizon.

Dadaepo Beach is also home to one of the world’s largest dancing fountains. Throughout summer and fall, regular performances are held here, with music, lights and water creating a spectacle that is not to be missed. Join the crowds and be amazed at this unique cultural display.

Dadaepo Beach (among others) is also the setting for the hugely popular Busan Sea Festival. A series of performances and cultural events are held on the beach and there is a buzzing family-friendly atmosphere. Get involved in the raucous dancing and enormous water gun fights, or just come along to watch the shows. The beach also plays host to the “daljip” (brushwood) burning during the Lunar New Year Festival.

Visit Dadaepo Beach for free and leave your car in the nearby parking lot for free as well. The shower facilities are also complimentary. The beach is easy to reach by public transportation, as there are several bus lines which head here from the city centre.
