Enjoy all types of classical concerts, major Broadway productions, family-friendly theater performances and comedy acts at Chrysler Hall, the primary performing arts center in Norfolk. More than 150,000 patrons each year attend performances by the hall’s resident organizations, including the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Norfolk Forum, the Virginia Arts Festival, the Virginia Ballet, Broadway in Norfolk and the Generic Theater.
There’s always something to see at Chrysler Hall, such as the symphony performing Barbra Streisand favorites or Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Consider a more offbeat show by the Generic Theater on the lower floor of Chrysler Hall, known as Little Hall. New and local shows that may not get a chance to be presented elsewhere are showcased in this studio theater.
Consider upgrading your admission to select shows to include access to the Stage Left Lounge. You’ll have 90 minutes prior to the performance to enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at a spacious bar overlooking the Norfolk skyline. In addition, receive early entry to Chrysler Hall, access to the Lounge during intermissions and access to private restrooms.
Before or after a show at Chrysler Hall, check out nearby Norfolk attractions, including the Nauticus science and technology center on the waterfront, featuring the battleship USSWisconsin. Tour the historic ship, one of the largest and last battleships built by the U.S. Navy, engage in hands-on exhibits and check out the nearby Hampton Roads Naval Museum.
Stop at the free MacArthur Memorial museum, dedicated to preserving the story of Army General Douglas MacArthur, as well as the millions of men and women who served in World Wars I and II and the Korean War.
Find Chrysler Hall in the heart of Norfolk, near the Scope Arena, which hosts hockey, basketball, conventions and concerts. For Chrysler Hall events, park for a fee at the Scope Garage or other nearby lots and garages. The Scope Garage fills quickly for large events, so plan to arrive at least an hour early. Alternatively, travel by light rail and disembark at Monticello Station.
