I chose this hotel because it was the closest I could get to a morning appointment. After entering the lobby, we could smell humidity. Temperature was OK, but obviously the AC had not been upgraded for a while, which explained the smell. Checking in was a bit more hassle than usual (I don't think they see too much non-Indian business, so they wanted to make SURE my passport and visa were OK), which did not exactly made for a stellar welcome (albeit otherwise they were polite). Apparently, no non-smoking rooms for our type of room (I got upgraded to an immense but empty room with a small window, but my travelling companion not, and his room was smelly). Got down to the bar for a few drinks and snacks, which was OK, but like the rest of the hotel it struck us as very old-style, and not in a good way. Service was distinctly non hurried, which was fine for one night but makes this hotel not an option for our future needs.
