"Warm welcome from Estelle with helpful guidance for local points of interest and restaurants. Shower was very good with hot water operating without any wait time. Breakfast was all of good quality, home made approach with apples pick from her tree each morning, and cooked eggs from her free range hens were offered. Very nice secure countryside house."

"When we made the reservation, the Hotel.com hotel's website insinuated it was walking distance to the airport. It was a 10 min walk to a tram that would eventually take you to the airport. That was impossible to do with luggage. I would never have booked this hotel if I knew that I had to take an uber to the airport."

"The first thing you notice is that the outside of the hotel needs repainting. The second is that the old chipped bath in the ensuite needs ripping out and a modern shower is needed as you can't stand up and shower in the bath. Having said that, the rest of our stay was lovely. The hotel is attached to five acres of woods, they allow dogs to stay in the rooms, and our two Labradors loved their walks there. "Great choice if you are visiting Paulliac or Saint Julien wineries at Bordeaux. Very close to a few famous ones. The room is spacious and the amenities are nice. Good restaurant as well. However, the only issue is the Accessibility, they have quite a few bumps, stairs if you are using a wheelchair or so."

"Wow! From the moment we drove through the gates and were welcomed by Valentino, we were blown away. The property is stunning from the outside but is surpassed by what the owners have done to decorate the inside. Each room is breathtaking and the service of nightly orderves left us totally impressed. The final piece de resistance was the amazing meal that Val served up to us, complete with specially selected wines. We were so grateful for the assistance we were provided with arranging our daily visits to nearby attractions as well. We don’t get to France much but we will be visiting again whenever we can. "

A nice hotel in Margaux

"We had a great time at Hotel de Margaux. We stayed in the Suite Vénitienne which is a large apartment in a little chateau close to the hotel with a view on a nice pool and a vineyard. The host was very nice. Too bad that their restaurant was closed and we had to go outside for dinner."

"If you are looking for a quiet countryside experience in the Bordeaux region with some of the most caring and adorable hosts possible look no further. The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast is always fresh and a great way to start a day of wine exploration in the region, and the overall atmosphere is very clean, peaceful and relaxing. The crew that manages the guests are genuinely helpful and will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They patiently answered a thousand questions, even made dinner for us after their kitchen was closed when we came home hungry. The crew made our stay extra special. Notice i said come home. Thats how you feel at Chateau Meyre. At home!! Note: the Chateau is a bit remote and you need a rental car preferably or the chateau can find you a taxi but be prepared to pay for it since the distance to Bordeaux city and varied food options is a bit far. Highly recommend for an adorable French countryside experience. "
