"The staffs were very nice and accomodating. Breakfast was surprisingly good with many menus to choose from (buffet style). The property is outdated (the smell reminded me of my grandma's house- definitely not a bad smell, but an "old" smell) except for the ground floor which seems to have been recently renovated. Walkable distance to the city center, though some may say it's slightly far away (10 minutes). For the price I paid, it was good value. "

"Great location and friendly, helpful staff. Rob on the reception desk was particularly helpful giving suggestions of where to eat and what to do. A rather quirky hotel spanning a number of different levels with a roof top walkway to some of the rooms. My room was small but adequate with a desk to work from. "The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was in need of some refurbishment and the shower was poor. However, Howfield Manor is a beautiful building and even in December the grounds were lovely. I would like to stay there again. "
