Making a change
This hotel has changed management, The staff was very friendly and helpful. The condition of the rooms is sad. However the new management is trying diligently to get the place refurbished. My room smelled like an ashtray and the floor was sticky and gross. I made a reservation on hotels.com however they do not take online reservations any more and the office does not open until 9am. At least the bed was comfortable.

Worst experience ever
I got the cheapest room I could find, trying to save money. I just needed a clean place to lay my head for a couple of nights. But every time I tried to open the door,it would jam. The there was a horrible smell. The floors weren't clean well. There were so many spots of paint and mortar from repairs, spaddered on the walls and floor. The condition of the appliances were old and worn out. Even burnt marked. There were stains on the bottom mattress of I don't know what. And the roaches everywhere.... I've never experienced that in a hotel that I can remember.

In town for a race, this place was the closest. My room was obviously very old....paint pealing off the ceiling, in the bathroom, plastic baseboards off and laying on the floor, stained and plug missing in sink, round seat on an oblong toilet....which was wobbly. I had to get up a while after going to bed to shut off the fridge....loud, there were roaches scrambling everywhere! The bed had no blanket, just the coverlet on top. This place is also used as some sort of a residence. There were loads of people here during the middle of the day, and the reek of pot was everywhere. Zero likelihood that I stay here again.

Check-in was like walking into someone's house and interrupting dinner. Staff was very rude, rolling their eyes, sitting on the counter and talking to guest inappropriately especially the lady who cleans the rooms. My room floor had not been swept or mopped. We check in with 4 people and they only gave us 2 sets of towels, I was told that I had to purchase extra towels! The free internet is a joke! you can't even get on the internet. I had a non-smoking room with cigarette burns in the counters and blankets, the bathroom door has a layer of smoke residue on it and there were ashes in the top drawer. Just when I thought that things couldn't get any worse... I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and was greeted by around 5 roaches! WTH! Way to take advantage of people Budgetel!

Terrible! Had to wait for someone to drive back to the property to meet me at the hotel to check me into my room, there were a bunch of individuals just hanging around in the parking lot and balconies in my opinion up to no good, then in the morning, woke up to what appeared to be small insects (roaches) in the bathroom area. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

SORRY EXCUSE FOR A HOTEL
Can't rate this hotel. The office was closed and no one anywhere to check me in. I arrived at 11:45 pm to check in. Office locked. I called the number on the reservation sheet. No answer. Did this several times. There was a number on the window to call if you were a guest and arriving late. Called this number and the lady that answered I could only hear bits and pieces so I told her that I was at the office waiting to check in. No one showed up. I called again and no answer this time. There was keypad at the door so I rang the emergency button. Nothing. Called the number again, nothing. A young boy walked by and asked if was trying to check in. I said yes and he said you probably need to see (can't remember the name) but she wont be in until about 9:00 in the morning. I then called hotels.com and after being transferred from one person to another 5 or 6 times, I got another room at another hotel at 2:30 AM. This is unacceptable on the part of the hotel and on the part of hotels.com. I am especially disappointed in hotels.com as I have been a very loyal customer for many years. Recommendation: Take this hotel off of your list and look into the handling of situations like this. No way I should have been sitting in my truck from 11:45 PM until 2:30 AM waiting for a room.
