"This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. Truly charming. The staff is so completely friendly and gracious. The room has character, the key was an old fashioned skeleton key. The property, once past the front gate transports you into another world. I would not hesitate to stay here again. I would have liked a fan in the room, but that is just me. The restaurant is fantastic with a view of the volcano overlooking the garden as they make fresh tortillas in front of you. "

"Loved staying here. Coffee was great, breakfast was filling, and the food from the restaurant was tasty. location is convenient for walking. Beds were comfy! We appreciated the filtered water in our room and the ventilation in the bathroom. We had a view of a volcano out of our window! "

"My cousin and I spent just one night at El Carmen, and we wished we could have stayed longer. The beds were very comfortable, bathroom was newly renovated, and the rooftop restaurant was lovely. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. "

"Very good for a few days stay. It’s very close to the main attractions in Antigua. The place has a lovely central garden, which adds to the overall peaceful vibe of the surroundings. Internet was good. The only drawback is probably that the bathroom sink is too small, and also, this being a small hotel, you can practically hear every conversation in the garden courtyard."

"The staff was super accommodating with my delayed flight - I arrived for check-in at 2:30am! The place was close enough to the airport for convenience, however you will want to taxi/Uber if arriving late at night as the 8- minute walk is dark and quiet. "Was upgraded to a 2-room suite, which was a lovely space. Kitchen, nice bathroom, a balcony! However, despite being on the 7th floor, tiny ants found my wrapped snacks in about an hour. Also, major construction across the street from 7am to 11pm nightly (a new hotel?), so bring earplugs if you're a light or day sleeper.
