"The Knighton Hotel is quiet and well-located. Unfortunately, they don't do meals, although they do have a coffee shop, which I didn’t try as I was out allday walking. The evening I arrived there was a leak through the inspection hatch in the ceiling of my room. "23A High Street is a timber framed mid terrace cottage with ancient beams exposed inside. It is highly decorated with knickknacks with a hare theme.Knighton is a small very hilly quiet town. I had no difficulty finding free street parking, but spaces are limited. Tom loves to meet new guests, and he allows them free use of his well equipped kitchen. I will go again if there is another log show at Builth Wells (40 minutes drive) "

"Our visit to Mellington Hall Country House Hotel was fantastic. The property is amazing, the staff were really attentive and amazing also. The food was superb and the service throughout was exceptional. After the meal we sat in the lovely building which has quiet rooms or an open fire. We went just before Christmas and so the property was probably quieter than during the summer months, but we definitely would return to enjoy walking in the surrounding countryside. "When I arrived the signs through the front door was confusing. I just found my way through to the bar where I spoke to the lovely staff behind the bar. Staff were really nice. Was shown to my room. Bed was comfortable, bedding and towels were clean. Carpet and bathroom floor was not clean. Hair on the bathroom floor. Tea and coffee was a welcome addition. great place to stay

"2 night stay only. Check in easy at the main bar,, staff very helpful. Food was good and we ate there the first evening. WE were offered a free upgrade which was great and we will definately stay again when we are back in Wales. Beer was also great which was a bonus for my husband who likes real ale."
