"Small hotel approximately 7 minutes walk from JR station, with plenty of restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Staff were very helpful. Comfortable stay, room wasn't overheated like other hotels, with central controlled air conditioning system on warm cycle. Free breakfast with stay, free coffee in the morning till 10am, and free potato soup served 8pm in the evening."

"I had a great experience staying at Gran Palette Hakodate. I arrived on a day when a fierce storm was raging. Although the walk from the tram stop to the hotel wasn’t far in distance, it felt incredibly long due to the heavy snow, which left me a bit exhausted. "Finding the hotel Ekimane involved asking the tourism information centre. They pointed to the name that is now only in Japanese script. But that said it is literally 500m away from the train station exit. So really hard not to find. The place is clean, and friendly. With recommendations made at the start for the onsen. A welcoming place for strangers and foreigners. "
